The Butcher
Karcsi, the small-town butcher, breathes his Last breath into the cold air of the meat locker. As he dies, we flash back to everything that led up to his death: the people who hated him, of which there were a lot, those who may have killed him, also a lot, and those he killed. Because the thing about Karcsi is that he was one son of a bitch.
Karcsi, our main character, dies in the opening scene, which allows us to play with time and narrative. We can choose many different moments in Karcsi’s life to reflect on his death so that the audience ultimately becomes the detective. This series has elemental themes and characters, but we subvert expectations, allowing the knight in shining armour to fail and the villain to survive. We can do this because we know that, in the end, justice will be served and Karcsi will die.
